ANNO MMXVII
2017 saw the Romans at many new events, which included several hobby fairs displaying our models of trireme warfare sea battles, an official New Zealand delegation to Rome for Rome's Birthday celebrations where we joined the legions parading around the coliseum and met the mayor, and a visit to our sister-club Leg III Cyrenaica in Massachusetts. Highlights included fighting with the fire-sword at the Grey Lynn Festival, the 25-strong Roman legion at Armageddon, the Roman Living History camp at Armistice, and of course the film-shoot of Netflix Roman Empire 2 where members acted as paid Roman extras.
