GLEN EDEN SANTA PARADE, 15 NOVEMBER 2014
Glen Eden Santa parade again had a large crowd turn-out in the festive Christmas spirit. A fierce gale and static electricity filled the air, heralding a ferocious oncoming storm, but fortunately we had sacrificed to the Roman gods that held the rain at bay, even as the wind blew all our cloaks out horizontal. As for the slave girl, she had great trouble keeping her peplos under control! The legionaries chanted their Roman marching song as they followed the route and the slave girl carried music to set the mood with the theme from Gladiator. The lucky Romans led the parade, and just as we finished the heavens opened, but our waiting chariot whisked us off to safety. Praise be to Jupiter Optimus Maximus, the Greatest and Best!
