Tauranga Romans - Sat 19 & Sun 20 January at Southey Field
The Imperial Romans set up a Roman display which gave demonstrations to the public, and answered their questions about Rome. We performed twice a day with a "Join the Roman army" show and a "Gladiators of Rome" show. We also trained in our latest weapons of whip and lasso when we had a spare moment. A beautiful weekend that gave glory to the name of Rome.
The very first field battle of all-comer combatants was won by our own Roman legionary, Jae Sung Park, fighting with scutum and gladius. His speed and tactical genius at adapting to fluid battle conditions endure the victory for Rome.
