Queen St Santa Parade - Sunday XXVII November
The Imperial Romans once more marched in the Queen Street Santa Parade. We have a long tradition of marching for Santa Claus, and Christmas is just another of the many good things that Rome did for you. Our legionaries were led by our Centurion Petronius and our resplendent Signifer Tiberius holding aloft the Eagle of Rome. We marched in formation, sang our Latin songs, and made numerous charges at the crowd - but only to demonstrate our ready ability to keep the Pax Romana - to resounding applause. We high-fived the kids, let them get selfies, and wished "Merry Christmas Auckland! Hail Santa!" to which our centurion added, "Have you paid your taxes?!" Fantastic crowd, beautiful day, and great goodwill with yuletide spirit flowing everywhere. We gained several new recruits keen to join the Roman army - it's a great career!
